With Olivier Giroud out injured, Danny Welbeck is the sole striker leading the attack and he’s not going to be able to maintain that, as every player needs a rest. Just ask Raheem Sterling.
Whilst Theo Walcott is returning, the likelihood is he will feature out wide. Therefore, the Gunners need an attacking player who is capable of coming off the bench, or starting when others are rested, and getting the goals. Akpom literally breathes goals and his stats show that it is time for him to come out of the reserves, as he’s finding it too easy. Like Hayden, he could become a real key player.
