Arsenal host Tottenham in what will be a very important North London Derby on Saturday afternoon. Can the Gunners finally get a win over Pochettino’s men? The form book says no, but as we know in derby’s, the form book goes out the window. Plus, Arsenal could be boosted by the return of two important players.Â
The first, Shkodran Mustafi, who has been injured for much of the season. The German defender is due to have a fitness test on Friday to decide whether or not he can play. With Laurent Koscielny’s ongoing Achilles problem, Per’s pending retirement and Arsenal’s lack of defensive options, Mustafi’s return will be very welcome. The likes of Debuchy, Coquelin and Elneny have had to deputise in central defence in recent weeks, and Wenger will hope that doesn’t need to be the case again this season.
Danny Welbeck could also be back in the squad. The Englishman started the season as an important part of the Arsenal line up but another injury has already seen his season disturbed. With Alexis Sanchez seemingly on his way out, Danny has a huge chance to cement himself a place in the starting eleven, and in the process boost his chances of inclusion in the World Cup 2018 squad for England.
