Arsenal completed the £16million transfer of Danny Welbeck on deadline day. Here’s what Twitter thought of it. Mixed opinion but mostly happy Arsenal fans, many thought we wouldn’t get a striker at all!
I think Welbeck, Alexis, Sanogo and Campbell is enough to get us through till Giroud is back in January. Plenty of variation in there. #afc

I’m actually impressed with the signing of Danny Welbeck – Young, English, hard working player. £16m fee worth it.

£16m is a bit much but upside is Welbeck is only 23 with bags of experience

If it is £16m that’s a fairly decent fee considering some of fees paid this summer.

FourFourTom wasn’t as happy..
Remy was £8.5m. Balotelli, £16m. Mandzukic, £17m. None were deemed good enough value, yet Arsenal will pay £17m for Danny fucking Welbeck.

A Chelsea fan thinks he’ll do well
Welbeck isn’t half as bad as many would make you think. Bit pricey but he’ll be decent for them

Man Utd fans don’t seem too happy to be losing him
£16m for Welbeck. Absolutely gutted to lose him but we’ve made good money off him.

Good point..
Danny Welbeck is Arsenal’s 3rd most expensive signing in the club’s history after Özil and Sanchez.

Surprising Welbeck stats per 90 mins as a goalscorer pic.twitter.com/72jCHVoysp

Danny Welbeck – Pro’s : Pace, Age, Point to Prove, Adds to English core, Can play with back to goal as well. Con’s : Finishing is dodgy ?

Balotelli was rejected for his attitude & baggage, not his price. Welbeck nothing but professional & will at least give 100% for the shirt

People saying Welbeck is useless. Same was said of Sturridge pre-Liverpool – another who needed trust and a good run in his right position

Can understand Welbeck wanting to go to play more often, it's just so disappointing. And especially to them. I'm sure he'll be a success
