Podolski looks set to join Galatasaray in Turkey after reports suggested a £2.1million deal was on the brink of completion.
Some quotes, with no evidence of them actually being real – have suggested Podolski fancies staying in London. I don’t blame him, I bet he will struggle to find a club that will pay him what he currently earns at the Emirates and if he stays one more year he will be a free agent in the summer – free agents get to pick a club and are often offered big signing on fees.
Moving on Podolski was one of Arsene Wenger’s priorities this summer – as it was clear he had no future at the club, and Arsenal cannot afford to pay such high wages for a player on the fringes of the first team. At 30, Podolski is only likely to go downhill and his lazy attitude on the pitch could only really get worse.
