This one could go either way, Arsenal or Manchester United. Last night it seemed all but certain that the French midfielder would join Manchester United, but reports today indicated that the players preference is to join Arsenal. What we know is that Arsenal remain interested, but they will not pay the £24million asking price.
A deal could fall through if Manchester United are willing to meet that valuation, and then the decision may not be in the players hands. I fear that Manchester United will sign him, but as long as Wenger has another transfer target up his sleeve, I won’t be too worried. We could do better with £24million than sign Schneiderlin – that’s for sure. Arturo Vidal is being linked with a move away from Juventus for a similar figure, and his quality – albeit in a slightly different role, is much higher than Morgan’s.
