Arsenal are reportedly finalising the acquisition of Brayden Clarke, a young defender from Wolves, as per the Secret Scout’s claims.
This source, known for its accuracy regarding youth signings, has indicated that Clarke is on the verge of joining Arsenal after bidding farewell to his current team. The move puts Arsenal ahead of four other Premier League competitors for the Welsh youth international’s services, with an official offer already made.
Brayden Clarke, at just 16 years old, is recognised for his versatility in defense, capable of playing both as a centre-back and right-back. Having emerged from Wolves’ academy, he’s made significant appearances for their Under 18s and has represented Wales at various youth levels, recently leading his team as captain.
Upon joining Arsenal, Clarke will be part of a promising youth setup under Jack Wilshere, featuring talents like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Kelly. While Nwaneri has already made senior appearances and participated in the FA Youth Cup, Lewis-Kelly is on the brink of his first-team debut. Clarke aims to emulate their progress and catch the eye of Arsenal’s senior team manager, Mikel Arteta.
It would be a positive move for Arsenal’s development squad, as they currently lack emerging talent in defensive positions, whereas they are more blessed in other areas.
