3. Debuchy Out – Bellerin in?
West Ham’s new signing Dimitri Payet was superb against Arsenal. The former Marseille playmaker really troubled Arsenal’s midfield and defence, whilst creating a number of chances for his teammate’s. Although the whole team performed poorly, Debuchy appeared to look off the pace of the game. Debuchy has had an unlucky debut season at Arsenal, after being sidelined due to unfortunate injuries. In his absence, Hector Bellerin has stepped into the side and has really excelled in the right back position. The game against West Ham demonstrated the need for Bellerin, in both attacking and defensive phases of the game. Bellerin offers a lot more going forward, with his blistering pace & energy whilst combining with his teammate’s. Bellerin was injured for this game, and he was sorely missed. Debuchy didn’t really make an impact going forward, and defence, he struggled to deal with the lively Payet. The West Ham man was able to make a telling impact on the game.
