Daniel Alves da Silva
The most accomplished player on this list comes in the form of Barcelona’s coveted Brazilian – Dani Alves.
Widely regarded as the best right back in world football, Alves has been stalling over a new deal, with his current contract set to run out in 2015. This has fuelled rumours linking him with a move away from the Catalan club, and a summer transfer looks likely.
His style would suit Arsenal perfectly – possession football and one touch passing is all he knows. The similarities between the tactics of Barcelona and the Gunners would allow the Brazilian to hit the ground running, and at 30 years old – 31 in a few days time – he would give us priceless experience in big Champions League games.
With only a few more seasons left before he starts to decline, Alves would also help pave the way for Carl Jenkinson and Héctor Bellerín to take over as Arsenal’s first and second choice right backs – offering them valuable experience over the next few years, only to leave when they mature enough to protect our right flank on their own.
Although the likes of PSG could start a bidding war we could never win, if Wenger was to make his interest known early on, he might be able to snag this star for around £10 million due to Dani’s contract situation and age.
For the right price, this could be one of Arsenal’s most important signings in the coming transfer window.
