Seamus Coleman

Everton’s Irish wizard – as he has never been referred as before – might be the most expensive player on this list. Winning a place in the PFA Team of the Year has caused his price tag to balloon.
Coleman has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in his 34 appearances in the Premier League this season, as well as charming fans and pundits alike with his energetic displays.
More of a midfielder playing out wide than an out-and-out defender, Seamus is capable of executing powerful and accurate long shots, as well as deliciously weighted crosses. His passing and movement has improved immensely under Martinez, and he would slot into Wenger’s system nicely.
Although he isn’t the fastest player out there, his stamina is unparalleled. Possessing the ability to run the length of the pitch from the first to last-minute of a match – this 25-year-old would provide a refreshing change to Sagna’s more cautious approach in games.
However, Coleman also offers a not-so-refreshing change when it comes to physical strength. There really isn’t much to the Irishman when it comes to muscle, and I fear that he would get bullied by some of the world-class wingers we would have to face in the Champions League.
Although his defensive displays have been excellent this season, his style is more about well-timed tackles and interceptions rather than bulldozing players off the ball. If his confidence/form was ever to dip – which would be likely if he made the jump to a club like Arsenal – we could be left with a defensive calamity on our hands. Yes, the other two players on this list will have bad games too, but they won’t cost the £15+ million that Seamus would.
Overall, this would be a risky deal Arsenal could afford to avoid.
