2. Sokratis Papastathopoulos
Rumours emerged this week that Arsenal are weighing up a move for Borussia Dortmund’s £12 million rated defender. Sokratis, who impressed at the World Cup with Greece is the third choice centre-half behind Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic and it is believed Dortmund are ready to sell. He is a strong and dominant figure at the back and would fit into the Arsenal side perfectly. Any deal though would impact on the amount of game time Sokratis is going to be given, and he is unlikely to be willing to warm the bench.
Of the 3 centre-backs listed above I would personally go for Winston Reid. He has Premiership pedigree and would be available at a reasonable price, however though it remains to be seen whether he can perform at the highest level.
