Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
I’ve not enjoyed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s presence in Arsenal’s team over the last few years.
Although he has bags of potential, his style is very reliant on him being the one who produces moments of magic – a dazzling run the length of the pitch; a wonder-strike from outside the box – but these things don’t often come from inexperienced players.
But I think this could be the season where that changes.
The 21-year-old, who will turn 22 this month, has started to mature into the player we all hoped he would eventually become. He looks stronger; hungrier than ever before. His speedy runs have now transformer into powerful drives through the heart of opposing teams.
I’ve always thought that if the Englishman could get himself a run of goals, he’d be a real threat for the rest of the season.
He’s already scored a fantastic goal against Chelsea to win us the Community Shield. A few more early on in Arsenal’s campaign, and Alex could go on to great things this season.
