Possibly the best performance from the Welshman since the heroics back in May, when we all know he grabbed the winning goal in the FA Cup final.

It’s been a tough season for Ramsey this year, as he struggles to pick up on the outstanding form of last season, where he was rightly rewarded with Arsenal Player of the Season.

However, with the capture of Alexis Sanchez, and the return from injury of Mesut Ozil, Ramsey has had to drop back into the centre defensive midfield slot. Wenger has stated that sitting back there isn’t what Ramsey loves to do, but for the good of the team, you aren’t going to get in the way of the goalscoring record Alexis boasts.

It’s hard to see, but when Ramsey isn’t the star of the show he just looks to try too hard. Last night there was no Alexis, no Cazorla, no Ozil and no Wilshere, which gave the Welshman a chance to show what he can do, to take charge. Both of Ramsey’s stand out performances have come when the likes of Wilshere aren’t playing, maybe its just a mental thing but it certainly seems Wenger will have a concern when Arteta and Wilshere are back fully fit.
