With the way Chelsea are running away with this league, both of these sides are desperate for three points in order to get their Premier League form back on track.
And although their both riding high in the top three in the table, Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola will be without some big names when they meet on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners have been praised for their strength in depth this season, with the most goals scored in the league by substitutes (6) which has rescued them on several occasions.
Man City on the other hand are having a bit of a nightmare in terms of their team news, and mid-week saw them suffer a huge blow, with one player set to miss the whole season.
Team News
Arsenal
The good news for Arsenal fans is that Danny Welbeck is close to his return as Wenger confirmed the striker would re-join first-team training next week having missed eight months of action.
Aaron Ramsey is looking good on his recovery to starting a game, and it looks as if he’ll be in contention to face West Brom on Boxing Day next week.
The word on Per Mertesacker is pretty quiet at the moment but from what we can tell he’s shaping up well, but will struggle to replace Gabriel or Mustafi at centre back.
Santi Cazorla and Mathieu Debuchy lead the long-term injury line-up, so it looks as if we’ll have a similar squad to the one that faced up against Everton.
Predicted Line-Up (4-2-3-1): Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Xhaka, Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi, Alexis
Manchester City
Guardiola has got to get this line-up right if he’s got any chance of picking up some support from the media, but he’s gonna have problems with suspensions and injuries to deal with.
Both Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho are still serving their red card’s that were picked up against Chelsea, meaning there’s gonna have to be a shift around in key areas.
The defence have come under question on several occasions so far this season, and with Kompany injuried and Mangala on loan, it’ll have to be much more of the same.
Recent news hasn’t been kind to City, and after Wednesday night’s game news came back that Ilkay Gundogan will miss the rest of the season with knee ligament damage.
Predicted Line-Up (4-2-3-1): Bravo, Zabaleta, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernando, Toure, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Nolito
