Spanish Press Say Benzema ‘Would Be Happier At Arsenal’ – January Move Mooted

Links between Arsenal and Karim Benzema have re-surfaced, after reports in Spain suggested that the French striker might be considering a move in January.

El Confidencial report that Benzema may not be happy at Madrid, because he is being substituted regularly.

I’m not sure if there’s much in this. Benzema has started 8/8 La Liga and Champions League games, scoring 7 goals in the process and only been subbed off three times. That’s a very normal amount.

What could be possible is that Benzema is not happy with Benitez style of management, but it’s impossible to tell that at the moment.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign the forward, but Madrid at the moment are asking for a ridiculous amount. From what we gather, they have set a £60million asking price for the player who turns 28 this season. Although the Gunners are happy to break their transfer record for the Frenchman – they will not be held to ransom and definitely will not pay such a high amount.

The Benzema to Arsenal rumours are not over yet, and if the Frenchman continues to get subbed, or start on the bench at all, you can expect the media stir the cauldron some more.
