The Gunners have come a long way from when they didn’t even field an Englishman in their starting eleven. Now for the up coming friendlies Roy Hodgson has selected six Arsenal players: Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck.

I think even Walcott himself will be a bit surprised by the call-up, but I’m sure he will be itching to get back into competitive action. If he comes through the international break in one piece, he could be ready to start against Manchester United.

Defensive duo Calum Chambers and Kieran Gibbs will be very happy to once again be included in the squad. Chamberlain, Wilshere and Welbeck were all certainties for the squad following their good form for club and country.

Saido Berahino and Stewart Downing have also made the 26-man squad.

Do you think Theo Walcott should have been called up? The Englishman is yet to make a start for his club after almost 10 months out. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
