Arsenal got back to winning ways against Bournemouth on Saturday, and whilst the Gunners were certainly expecting to win the game, it was refreshing to see the job done so professionally in a fixture where Wenger’s men simply had to pick up maximum points.
One of many players to impress on the afternoon was summer signing Sead Kolasinac, who was playing in his favoured left wing back role. He notched up another assist and overall put in a fantastic shift on the left hand side and showed Wenger exactly why he must continue to start as a wide defender and not in a central berth.
We know all about the Bosnian’s attacking pedigree, as he notched up several assists and even a few goals in the Bundesliga last season. He was named the best left back in the division and considering Arsenal signed him for absolutely nothing, you can see why some are dubbing him as the signing of the summer already.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to his performance…
Mental how much better Kolasinac is when he plays in his actual position. Might be a good idea to keep playing him in his actual position.

Kolašinac is the best free signing in the Premier League since Sol Campbell.

For me, Kolasinac is a brilliant signing and time will tell if he becomes the best signing of the summer. One thing is for sure though, for him to show his full potential he needs to keep being deployed as a left wing back. He’s not terrible as a central defender, but he has very little experience in that role and considering how much potential he has going forward, it is a waste to play him as a central defender.
