4 – He’s Already Pretty Close With The Gunners
As we’ve mentioned on countless occasions during this deals progression, Mustafi will have a good idea of what it’s like to be a Gunner.

Having worked in the shadow of Per Mertesacker at the centre back position for his country, Mustafi has learnt from the experienced defender all his life.
And whilst he may not be playing alongside the BFG this summer, it’s so important to have a familiar face at a new club, especially in a scenario like this.
Mustafi has come in as a last-minute signing and the rush to get him fit and ready for the new season will be on from the moment he’s signed his name on the dotted line.
Having friends like Ozil and Mertesacker around will help with his confidence and ultimately skip through the early stages of nerves when trying to fit into a new philosophy.
His experience at the highest level will also help, and unlike the transfers of Elneny and Xhaka, Mustafi is used to the standards held at a club like Arsenal so it should come as second nature.
