5 – Mauro Icardi
According to breaking reports on Sunday, Arsenal will meet with Argentinian striker Maurco Icardi’s agent in London next week.
The Gunners are determined to land a prolific striker this summer after a disappointing season on the attacking front last season.
The 23-year-old is considered one of Europe’s brightest attacking players, scoring 47 goals in 88 appearances since 2013.
Icardi has bags of potential, and is an exciting prospect but not the finished product the Gunners are ideally looking for, but at just 23 he still has masses amount of time to improve and succeed his potential, but, there is of course no guarantee of that.
Arsenal are looking for an out and out number 9 this summer, and that is exactly what Icardi is, and he would bring his strong finishing and ability to hold on the ball to the Gunners style of play next season.
Icardi is quick, intelligent and very technically gifted with superb technique. He is able to play off his team-mates which will be superb for the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil who thrive of deadly through balls.
Icardi is lethal in front of goal and is capable of capitalising on half chances with his left and right foot to score a chance. A true goal-scoring poacher, a fox in the box, and his intelligence to create a yard or two on his marker.
The modern-day striker can work in and around the 18 yard box, linking up play and staying well connected even if he isn’t getting the service he needs, but Icardi can often find himself disconnected from the midfielders and can often get disjointed from the rest of the team unless he is fed chances.
