4 – Daniele Rugani
Arsenal have had a bid of £25million rejected by Juventus for their defender Daniele Rugani.
Rugani is not seen as a regular by the Italian giants and he is seeking a move away this summer in bid to regain first team football, something the Gunners would certainly be able to offer.
Napoli are also said to be interested in the talented 21-year-old, but Juventus are keen to keep hold of their prized asset despite recently signing Medhi Benatia.
Rugani has managed just 17 games for Juventus thus far, which is not good enough for such an exciting prospect.
Rugani stands at 6ft 3′, is tactically versatile and physically strong, something the Gunners have lacked in previous seasons and his heading ability would help them defensively and offensively when attacking set pieces.
At such a tender age, he plays with a lot of maturity. His intelligence on the pitch is second to none and this allows him to impress with his marking mobility, despite the obvious lack of pace and mobility.
Arsenal will be very impressed with Rugani’s confidence in possession, his ability to pass and play out of the back-line, this is an important trait for the modern day centre-back. His impressive attributes have seen his regarded as one of Europe’s most promising talents.
Rugani, at a tender age can be vulnerable of overdoing it, which is something the Gunners are looking to rectify with their current crop of defenders, but this shouldn’t come as a massive concern for Arsenal in their pursuit, as this can be heavily drilled in training and help his improve on his power and pace.
Arsenal should offer whatever Juventus ask for Rugani, he’s one of the most exciting prospect in Europe in terms for defenders are more so than the notable John Stones or Marquinhos, £25 million seemed a fair opening bid and I’d fully expect the Gunners to return with an improved offer.
