Arsenal are set to make moves in the transfer market this summer and amongst those moves will be lots of players leaving the club.
One man who is almost certain to end his long affinity with the club this summer is defender Hector Bellerin. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, a reliable European journalist, Bellerin is most likely to return to Spain this summer.
We’ve already heard of Real Betis’ interest in the player, but Gianluca is suggesting that Villarreal and Sevilla are now interested.
A move to Villarreal would of course mean reuniting with former Arsenal boss Unai Emery. Bellerin was predominantly the right back Emery chose during his spell in charge at The Emirates and with Hector thought to be set on a return to Spain, this rumour does make sense.
Bellerin has two years remaining on his Arsenal contract and the club will hope to recoup at least £20million for the player. Some long-standing Arsenal players look set to finally leave the club this summer, with Bellerin likely to be joined by Granit Xhaka in the departure lounge.
Bellerin has spent 10 years at the club since joining from Barcelona’s academy, racking up nearly 200 appearances for Arsenal in that time.
Edu Gaspar has a lot to do at the club this summer both in terms of sales and purchases, so he will be keen to get some deals through the door. The European Championships kick off later this week and that could threaten to delay deals for players like Xhaka, who are featuring for their country in the tournament.
AS Roma and Arsenal are thought to be keen to seal a deal before the weekend in order to prevent any delays.
