Report: Clubs queuing to sign young Arsenal star, Gunners could cash in

  • Mika Biereth has one year left on his Arsenal contract.
  • Arsenal must decide to extend and loan him or sell this summer.
  • Interest in Biereth is high after successful loan spells.
  • Sheffield Wednesday has renewed their interest in signing Biereth.
  • Talks with Sturm Graz about a permanent deal are planned.

Arsenal face a crucial decision regarding their young striker Mika Biereth, whose contract expires in a year. After impressive loan spells, particularly with Sturm Graz where he scored nine goals and provided four assists, the Gunners must choose whether to extend his contract and loan him out again or sell him this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday have renewed their interest in signing Biereth. They previously targeted him in January but missed out to Sturm Graz. Biereth’s success in Austria, especially in the Europa Conference League, has increased his attractiveness to several clubs.

Arsenal are also planning talks with Sturm Graz about a permanent deal according to Simon Collings of the Evening Standard. The Austrian club are keen to keep Biereth, especially with the potential of Champions League football next season. However, Sheffield Wednesday and other English and European clubs are expected to present strong competition for his signature.

For Arsenal, the decision revolves around capitalising on Biereth’s rising value through a sale or continuing his development with another loan spell after extending his contract. Given his promising performances and the interest he has garnered, the Gunners must carefully weigh their options to maximise his potential and value.

It is on a smaller scale in terms of fee, but a similar dilemma to what they faced with Folarin Balogun last season. Sell why the value is high, or re-sign and hope his value rises further?

The fee Arsenal are able to attract for Biereth will be interesting. He’s valued at around £5million on transfermarkt. His recent form would suggest he’s worth more than that but his contract situation decreases his value.
