Arsenal have been put on alert due to the availability of Real Madrid forward, Jese Rodriguez. Reports from Spain indicate the Gunners may be readying a January bid.Â
The 22 year old Spanish forward excelled in his youth career, but has failed so far to translate that into senior football in Spain. Much of that is due to the lack of game time he gets at Madrid, with the likes of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo in his way for a starting first eleven spot.
It is thought Jese is now becoming frustrated with his lack of game time, having started just four games this season. Arsenal have been linked with Jese for a long time now, and the Spanish media continue to turn the rumour mill with their latest reports.
It is believed that Real Madrid are asking for around £21million, a figure that is not really too much to ask for, considering his potential. That money may help Madrid fund a move for Marco Reus.
Considering the market these days, £21million could represent good value if Jese can realise his potential, but it would not be insulting if Arsenal tempted Madrid with an opening offer of around £15million.
Despite Danny Welbeck returning in January, Arsenal still lack some depth in attack, especially in the wide areas and Wenger may be tempted to bid for Jese if he does indeed become available.
