Arsenal are ready to make a move for Saint-Etienne captain Loic Perrin in January, according to The Mirror.
Arsene Wenger is reportedly interested in the players experience and versatility and the fact he could play in the Champions League for Arsenal is an added bonus.
Perrin is a central defender who can also play at full back and in defensive midfield. With just £20million reportedly available for Wenger in January, Perrin could kill two birds with one stone.
The 5ft 10′ defender has been at Saint-Etienne since 1997 and has played over 200 games for the club. It is hard to see the club selling him, but despite his obvious loyalty the player would surely jump at the chance to compete in the Premier League and Champions League before his career ends.
I’m sure this is not the news most Arsenal fans wanted to see, but at least Perrin would be another central defender for the squad. I’d argue that Fabian Schar would not cost much more and would be a more suitable solution. What do you think about Arsenal wanting to sign Perrin in January? Share your thoughts by commenting below.
