Arsenal look set to be taking steps to secure their long term future by selling one of their big-name strikers in January.
Both players are yet to sign contract extensions and Arsenal look to be losing patience with the duo. Now, they could take steps for the long term direction of the club by replacing one with a younger player.
Aubameyang is 30 and Lacazette 28, and so handing either a player a long-term big-money deal now may be problematic. Le10Sport in France are now claiming an exclusive that Arsenal will sell one of their ‘older’ strikers and replace them with the young and impressive Moussa Dembele of Lyon.
Their report says that according to their information Arsenal expects a major departure (Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang). They add that Moussa Dembele is one of the priorities for Arsenal and that the Lyon striker’s profile fits perfectly with the qualities sought by the club. The report also adds that Arsenal are willing to pay the price for Dembele, but they don’t add what that price is.
Dembele has been impressive since arriving from Celtic and has scored 10 goals in 16 starts and 2 sub appearances for Lyon in Ligue 1 so far this season.
