Report: Arsenal in talks to sign their first choice striker target in big-money deal

Rumours of an attacking signing this month are seriously heating up!

Arsenal are reportedly pushing to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this month.

According to football reporter Sam C., Arsenal have been working on a deal since last week, with manager Mikel Arteta already speaking directly to the player.

The move is seen as part of Arsenal’s efforts to address their depleted attacking options following major injuries to key players such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

Sky reporter Dharmesh Sheth adds that Arsenal are currently discussing internally whether a move for Sesko is feasible during the January transfer window. However, the deal may prove difficult, as Leipzig are reportedly reluctant to sell the Slovenian forward.

Despite being eliminated from the Champions League, Leipzig are only one point off the top four in the Bundesliga, making Sesko an integral part of their campaign.

Sesko has shown immense potential with his combination of pace, technical ability, and clinical finishing. He’s considered one of the most promising young strikers in European football and would add much-needed versatility to Arsenal’s forward line.

While Sesko appears to be a priority target, Arsenal are also said to have other attacking options under consideration. With the team looking to maintain their push for success domestically and in Europe, a signing in this position is viewed as essential to reinforce the squad during a busy and challenging period.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is also a target under consideration, though it remains to be seen if Arsenal would be interested in both players.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can convince Leipzig to part with their talented striker mid-season, but the interest underscores the club’s determination to strengthen their squad and remain competitive on all fronts.
