Report: Arsenal ‘confident’ of signing €85m-rated Premier League star

Arsenal could be set to make a major swoop in the market for Premier League midfielder, Bruno Guimaeres.

The reports suggest that ‘multiple insiders’ have conveyed to TEAMtalk that Arsenal’s technical director, Edu, is increasingly optimistic about securing a deal to bring the Brazilian midfielder from Newcastle to North London. The growing belief within the Arsenal camp is that a transfer is more than just possible; it’s likely.

This pursuit comes at a critical juncture for the Gunners, who are vigorously contending for the Premier League title after demonstrating significant progress under Mikel Arteta’s leadership. Despite Manchester City being the slight favorites to clinch the title, Arsenal have been impressive and are rightfully seen as one of the most desired destinations right now.

Newcastle will not be participating in the Champions League next season, opening up the door to a transfer.

According to transfermarkt, his value is around €85million, but it may take more than that to convince Newcastle to sell.

With Kai Havertz increasingly being deployed in a striker role, Arsenal appears to be reallocating their budget priorities. Strengthening the midfield seems to be the primary focus, signaling that the club might dedicate a significant portion of its resources to bolster this area. This strategic shift underscores Arsenal’s intent to build a well-rounded squad capable of challenging for both domestic and European honors.

Overall, the potential acquisition of Bruno Guimaraes could be a transformative move. Paired with Declan Rice in midfield, both players are capable of playing as a 6 or an 8 and it would give Arsenal significant steel and skill at the heart of their side.
