Arsenal and West Ham have both expressed an interest in signing Zinchenko according to a report in the Evening Standard today.
Arsenal will hope they have a couple of advantages over West Ham in any chase to sign Zinchenko. The first being that Mikel Arteta has worked with the player for a number of years whilst a coach at the club. The other is according to the report in the Evening Standard which suggests Arsenal will offer Zinchenko more opportunities in his favoured midfield role, whereas West Ham primarily see him as a left back.
In the latest episode of The Fresh Arsenal Show, PB looked at how Zinchenko could fit into the Arsenal team and how he compares to Tierney and Xhaka in their respective positions.
Zinchenko is valued at £22.5million on transfermarkt and it is thought that Manchester City would not stand in his way if he were to push for a move away from the club this summer. City are thought to be pursuing a move for Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella as a possible replacement.
Aged 25, Zinchenko would arrive at Arsenal packed full of international (50 caps for Ukraine) and Premier League experience, whilst still having plenty of his best years ahead of him. When you factor in he has not played a tonne of football for his age, you would think his prime years are ahead of him and this is an exciting prospect for the Gunners, should they manage to seal a deal.
