The news comes following an update from Elliot Richardson, who is known to be incredibly reliable in the past and is educated in his football opinions.

That update was then backed up by Daily Mail journalist, Sami Mokbel, who has had a pretty solid transfer window in terms of exclusives and accuracy level.

Mokbel tweeted that Arsenal were working on a deal to sign the 21-year-old who has a contract at Palmeiras until 2026.

For many, Danilo is a player that will be new to the radar of Arsenal transfer rumours, but the player has been linked with the club in the past following Edu’s arrival.

A young Brazilian box-to-box midfielder, he certainly fits the criteria of what Arsenal are looking for, given he’s capable of playing across the #6 and #8 positions.

The news comes following injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny, leaving Arteta with a whole in his midfield options given Ainsley Maitland-Niles will now join Southampton on a season-long loan.

Danilo is left footed and at 6ft 1in is one of the most highly rated prospects in South America after several Brazilian experts rated him as the next big thing.

A move to the Premier League was always on the cards and the Edu connection could play a huge part in the negotiations, given Danilo won’t be lost for friends.

As Brazilians themselves, Marquinhos, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes will all influence Danilo’s decision in a positive way you’d think.

Arsenal have until 11pm on Thursday 2nd 1st September to complete a deal and register the player in time to feature against Manchester United on Sunday.
