AC Milan are working on a deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal, with their sporting director reportedly travelling to London to hold talks over the transfer. The Ukrainian international is one of Milan’s top targets as they look to reinforce their left side ahead of the 2025/26 season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the main obstacle to the deal is Zinchenko’s salary, which is currently around €5million per season. However, there is growing optimism that a compromise can be found, paving the way for the 28-year-old to make the move to Serie A.
Arsenal are said to be asking for around €15million for the former Manchester City defender, who has one year remaining on his current contract. Despite Kieran Tierney’s release earlier this summer, the Gunners feel well-covered at left-back, with Jakub Kiwior, Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly all options there.
Mikel Arteta is also interested in Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, with strong rumours suggesting that Arsenal are pushing to add the Dutch wonderkid to their defensive ranks, especially if Kiwior were to leave – with Milan also interested in the Polish international.
Zinchenko has struggled with form and fitness over the last season and fell behind in the pecking order as Arsenal pushed for the Premier League title. With Andrea Berta now leading Arsenal’s transfer dealings, the club will hope to raise some key funds from sales of players like Zinchenko.
