3 – Vincent Aboubakar
One of the players sharing Ben Yedder’s second place spot in the top scorers chart is Vincent Aboubakar.
With 16 goals in 35 games, 22-year-old Vincent was one of last season’s most exciting young strikers. Big, strong, and lightning quick – Aboubakar has all the attributes necessary to cut it in the Premier League. Unlike the other players on this list, Lorient’s star striker would add a real physical presence to Arsenal’s attack, and his pace and power would allow him to bulldoze his way through defences and get on the end of Mesut Özil’s accurate through-balls.
The Cameroonian is in the form of his life, and would surely welcome an approach from a club such as Arsenal. He wouldn’t cost too much either, as Lorient would most likely accept a bid of around £10 million.
Although this list lacks the likes of Edinson Cavani and Mario Balotelli, I’m not so sure Arsene Wenger will be looking to spend over £20 million on a striker when he has Olivier Giroud at his disposal. It is far more likely that we’ll see a big money defensive-midfielder come in rather than a centre-forward, and if that is the case, these bargain buys would help to complete a perfect transfer window for The Gunners.
