Reliable journalist confirms Arsenal will ‘100%’ sell this player and replace him in the summer

Arsenal appear set for a significant shuffle in the goalkeeper department in the summer.

Firstly, the club are set to make the loan move for David Raya permanent, with a £27million buy option inserted in his temporary move last summer.

And with Aaron Ramsdale’s future hanging in the balance, Arsenal are poised to make a savvy financial move by potentially selling him for a sizeable amount and acquiring a cost-effective replacement.

Ramsdale, who currently earns about £100,000 per week, is speculated to be on the move, with Arsenal likely to command a transfer fee in the neighborhood of £30million. Ramsdale’s departure would not only free up a substantial portion of the wage bill but also inject fresh capital into the club’s coffers, providing additional flexibility in the transfer market.

As per trusted football journalist Fabrizio Romano (via Caught Offside), Arsenal are actively seeking a replacement when Ramsdale exits. Romano confirms, “With Aaron Ramsdale’s future in doubt, Arsenal will also 100% bring in a new backup goalkeeper this summer.”

This statement underscores the club’s proactive approach in ensuring depth and competition within the squad.

Among the names being considered, former Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny has surfaced; however, his current situation at Juventus remains unclear, making a potential return to North London uncertain at this stage.

Instead, Arsenal could towards a more economically viable option in Álvaro Valles, a relatively under-the-radar talent with only one year left on his contract, likely available for around £5million.

Valles, currently earning approximately £2,000 per week, represents a dramatically lower financial commitment compared to Ramsdale. Having been heavily scouted by Arsenal, Valles could offer the Gunners a reliable backup option with the potential for development. His modest wage demands would further ensure that Arsenal maintains a balanced wage structure, which is crucial for sustainable team management.

Arsenal’s approach to handling the goalkeeper transition reflects a broader strategy of financial prudence combined with competitive ambition. By offloading Ramsdale for a significant fee and opting for a less expensive yet promising replacement, Arsenal can reallocate resources more effectively across other areas of the squad with the club expected to sign a defender, midfielder and forward.
