The Real Reason Alexis Sanchez Was Dropped

First of all, if you’ve got this far it probably means you’re too gullible. You shouldn’t have to read an article to justify why Alexis didn’t start against Spurs but due to some ludicrous claims in the media, I had to write this.

Goal, in their latest line of fairytale creations have suggested that Arsene Wenger dropped Alexis Sanchez due to him ‘disrupting the team’. His match winning goals and tireless attitude are quite disruptive I suppose, making all the other players look bad how awful of him. Send him back.

In the long report, Goal say this:

‘Goal has learned that Sanchez has been dropped by the manager from the starting XI for Arsenal’s last two Premier League matches for slowing down the team’s well-established passing game.’

Just how did you learn that Goal? Please tell me?

Now I can see why this story was written. Alexis was dropped, Arsenal fans were angry, a story about why he was dropped would be popular. It would be even more popular if you made an outrageous claim as the headline.

Let me tell you why Alexis Sanchez did not start against Tottenham. It was because he played 90 minutes against Southampton and will have to play 90 minutes against Galatasaray and Chelsea this week. To make him start against Tottenham (our easiest game on paper) would have meant taking a risk on his long term fitness. If he had done that and then got injured, everyone would have called for Arsene’s head.

A crazy little thing called rotation and suddenly Arsene Wenger doesn’t like Alexis. Does anyone honestly believe such balls?
