An extremely young Arsenal side travelled to Nottingham Forest on Sunday evening, with the prospect of hosting FA Cup holders Leicester City in the fourth round for the winners.
Arsenal have a very young squad, but this one was even younger, with the experience midfield duo of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey both unavailable, young Lokonga and teenage debutant Charlie Patino lined up in the heart of midfield.
That inexperience saw Arsenal start slowly under the pressure of the very vocal home fans. The game was fairly even throughout, but Nottingham Forest wanted it more and were rewarded with a late winner. Arsenal are out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle.
