Player Ratings: Aston Villa 0-3 Arsenal

Arsenal got back to winning ways with an impressive 3-0 win away to the in-form Aston Villa. A quick fire trio of goals inside 4 minutes so Arsenal blow Villa away and they had no response as Arsenal cruised through the second half.

This week we have taken the ratings from the fans averages generated on our ‘Player Rater‘ page.

Wojciech Szczęsny – 7.6

Made two good saves to keep Arsenal level early on, and that made a big impact on the swing of the game. Well played.

Calum Chambers – 6.5

Not his most solid game but did the job. Starting to think his best position is actually as a centre back.

Laurent Koscielny – 7.4

From a 4.7 rating on Tuesday to a 7.4 today. Koscielny was a prominent figure in earning Arsenal their first Premier League clean sheet.

Per Mertesacker – 6.7

His lack of pace looked like it was targeted at the start, but Arsenal managed to keep a clean sheet anyway. Not jaw dropping from Per but hardly tested.

Kieran Gibbs – 7.1

Good performance from Gibbs, who was actually rather good in Arsenal’s loss to Dortmund. He’ll be happy to get another start.

Mikel Arteta – 6.6

A lot better than Tuesday, but all he had to do was turn up to do that. Still not Arsenal quality in my eyes.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7.1

Explosive and good work rate. Was influential in keeping Aston Villa on the back foot.

Aaron Ramsey – 5.8

Hmmm, off colour again from Ramsey. Not influential going forward and passing wasn’t very good.

Santi Cazorla – 6.9

Pretty quiet from Cazorla but steady in possession as normal. Didn’t score the goals but kept us ticking.

Mesut Özil – 9

What a way to turn things around hey? He was given a central role and everything went right for him. A well taken goal and delicious assist.

Danny Welbeck – 8.6

Netted his first Arsenal goal and assist with some brilliant link up play with Mesut Ozil. Very good performance.
