Out of nowhere: Arsenal have agreed €25m deal to sign versatile Serie A defender

Arsenal have taken missing out on Mudryk personally and moved to make not one but seemingly two signings out of nowhere this week.

We know that Leandro Trossard is set to sign for Arsenal today, but Edu Gaspar has been busy and now the club look set to sign another player. The Gunners are probably short at left central defence and defensive midfield, step forward Jakub Kiwior.

According to Polish transfer expert Tomasz Włodarczyk a 25million euros deal to take Kiwior to Arsenal is almost done. He says he is set to sign a 5-year contract. A deal nearing completion has since been confirmed by the reliable David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Kiwior is has predominantly played as a left-footed central defender this season but has played a lot at defensive midfield in his career and also as a left-back.

He is 22 years old, stands at 6ft 2′ and has managed 9 caps for Poland.

Kiwior will likely provide cover for Gabriel in defence, whilst also having to ability to cover for Thomas Partey in case of an injury. These are two vital areas of the squad that lacked cover currently.

More to come.
