Arsenal are very interested in signing Espanyol centre back, Hector Moreno, and Arsene Wenger will decide soon whether to finalise a deal for the Mexican – according to reports in Spain.
Last week we brought you the news that Arsenal had been scouting Moreno, now it seems the Gunners have firmed up their interest.
Reliable Spanish journalist Kike Marin confirmed on Twitter on Sunday night that Arsenal are interested in signing the Mexican this month.
@Arsenal Confirmed: Mexican Hector Moreno (Espanyol) knows Arsenal’s interest in his signing. We’ll sea if Wenger decides. #Arsenal

So it seems it is up to Wenger to decide whether or not the Gunners sign Moreno. He’s an experienced Mexican international and would give the Gunners more depth in defence. There have been reports in England in the last week that suggest Arsenal have bid £6million for him, but these are unconfirmed.
Moreno is 27 and has 57 caps for Mexico. The 6ft centre back has played over 100 games for Espanyol since joining them in 2011 for an undisclosed fee. The defenders strengths are believed to lie in his heading and tackling attributes.
