If Arsenal are going to really challenge for the title this season, having squad depth over the festive period will be a massive difference to previous years.
And the Gunners have been handed a massive boost thanks to the recent update from Lucas Perez, who has confirmed is set to return early from injury.
Arsene Wenger was left furious a month ago when Lucas sustained an ankle injury after a deliberate tackle from one of Reading’s defenders during the 2-0 EFL Cup victory.
Early indications suggested the striker would be set to miss at least eight weeks, but having returned to his former club to undergo his recovery period the news is looking good.
The £17million man uploaded a video of him at Deportivo’s training complex, with the caption “on track for an early recovery”, something we’ve all been waiting to hear.

With the fitness of Alexis still not certain and Danny Welbeck still on the injury list, the forwards list at Arsenal looked set to be pretty limited going into December.
However, thanks to this positive update from the 28-year-old, it looks as if we could have another option in our attack for our busy fixture schedule over Christmas.
