First it was THAT banner, then it was THAT video. Now it’s THAT goal! On a night that nobody really knew what to expect at Türk Telekom Arena, Galatasaray were downed by Arsenal 1-4 in the final Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Impressive considering Arsène Wenger left Alexis Sánchez and Danny Welbeck freezing their respective assimus’s off in London. Although Arsenal have never lost to Turkish opposition (not including penalty shootouts) Galatasaray stood unbeaten in their previous five home matches against English teams. Tonight Arsenal didn’t manage to keep a clean sheet, conceding a goal to Wesley Sneijder’s direct free kick in the 89th minute, but Arsenal got the result they worked so hard for. Well done boys!
Tonight we saw a brace of braces from both Lukas Podolski (3rd and 93rd minute) and Aaron Ramsey (10th and 29th minute) with assists from Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yaya Sanogo. Now back to THAT (unassisted) goal, which was scored by Ramsey from 28.7 yards out, took 1.1 seconds from boot to goal and travelled at a speed of 53.4mph.
Here it is in glorious Technicolor:
Absolutely insane goal from Ramsey. #GALvAFC #Arsenal https://t.co/jl2ZKa2NVP

THAT goal left both fans and Sanogo stunned:

Sanogo's reaction to Ramsey's goal looks like he's just walked in on his mom and dad at it https://t.co/DWtD48HFMo”#GALvAFC

You will not see a better goal today or most days, than Aaron Ramsey's 2nd Vs Galatasaray. Holy left foot batman.

Ramsey was substituted at the beginning of the second half but it’s worth taking a look at his stats while he was on the pitch:
Aaron Ramsey's first half by numbers:
94% pass accuracy
3 chances created
2 tackles won
2 goals
1 assist

One fan, tongue in cheek, likens Ramsey’s goal to a typical Arsenal season:
Classic Arsenal season. Thanks to Ramsey, even the Goal of The Season Trophy is over by December #GALvAFC

And finally, here’s the man himself on THAT goal:
Ramsey on 2nd goal: "The ball came to me on the edge of the box. I had a go and thankfully it went in. It's up there with my best strikes"
