Arsenal target Nabil Fekir has given the Gunners hope of securing a £20m deal this summer but only if he is assured regular first-team football.
The 21-year-old Lyon midfielder has been a stand-out performer for the Ligue 1 outfit this term, scoring eight goals in 19 games for his hometown club, who are fighting moneybags Paris Saint-German for the French title.
Fekir, rated at around £20m, has attracted the Gunners interest- whilst France and Algeria are to battle to secure his international future.
The 21-year-old did not rule out a summer move to North London but stated it would only happen if he received regular football, as Arsenal have a wealth of midfield talent.
Speaking about the transfer speculation, he said:
“With all the great players at Arsenal it would be difficult for me to get a place in their team. You never know what might happen. But I don’t want to leave Lyon too early, and end up sitting on a sub’s bench somewhere.
“I love to play. I am not happy if I don’t get games.”
Arsenal may not be able to offer the required demands to secure a transfer though, as Arsene Wenger has the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey in the first-team picture.
However with Santi Cazorla linked with an exit, Fekir could be seen as the ideal replacement for the 30-year-old Spaniard.
