Liverpool vs. Arsenal: Team News & Likely Line-Up

Arsenal travel to Anfield this weekend and Arsene Wenger knows his side have to pick up three points as they head into the international break and, more importantly, the final week of the transfer window.

It’s been a frustrating week having lost 1-0 to Stoke City and it being confirmed that a deal for Thomas Lemar is now dead and buried as Monaco have “closed the door” on any more sales.

On the flip side, Liverpool have enjoyed getting back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Palace before securing their Champions League involvement with a 4-2 win over Hoffenheim.

Confidence is on the up over at Anfield despite the ongoing uncertainty of Phillipe Coutinho’s situation, with Jurgen Klopp continuing to state his only focus is on what happens on the pitch.

Arsenal will have to be at their very best on Sunday after a shaky start to the campaign, but could be handed a huge double boost after Wenger issued the latest team news.

Team News

Alexis Sanchez is back in contention to start this one after “working very hard” in training in order to feature. The Chilean has missed the first two games with an abdominal strain.

Laurent Koscielny has completed his three-game suspension following the red card he received in the final Premier League game against Everton last season.

Jack Wilshere is available for selection despite his red card in the U23’s game on Monday night. He’s banned from academy games but can feature for the first-team if needed.

Now that Gabriel has joined Valencia, it seems Santi Cazorla is our only long-term absentee and is still targeting a full return before Christmas. Other than that, everyone is fit.
