Spanish full-back Hector Bellerin produced a wonderful performance in one of Arsenal’s best games of the season. Given 7.83 (WhoScored.com) rating.
The defensive side of his game was great to watch. Playing on the right hand side he was up to the task of handling both Gael Clichy and James Milner. Nullifying their abilities he got the least out of the two, making numerous interceptions (4) and 75% successful tackles.
He was faultless in the air too, winning 100% of his aerial duels (2), despite his height. He also made nine clearances in the process. As the pressure from City increased as they searched for an equaliser, Bellerin stood strong, making 2 blocks.
The Modern day full-back gets up and down the pitch, Bellerin offered that and more. His speed enabling him to support the attack with to a pass accuracy of 73.7%. Bombing forward he completed two take ons, getting away from opponents with pace and agility.
He also picked up a booking for a foul off the ball.
