Twitter exploded with praise for Olivier Giroud last night after he proved a lot of doubters wrong with two quality finishes.
The familiar name of Oliver Giroud is ringing around the Emirates again, after netting a brace against Alan Pardew’s Newcastle. The Frenchman had miraculously recovered from a broken ankle, in super time and has been in exuberant in form. The striker has netted 6 goals in 5 games against Newcastle now, after firing a double against them on Saturday night. Prior to his injury, Giroud was criticised by fans and critics for not being clinical enough for a club like Arsenal. He certainly was extremely clinical on Saturday night.
Here’s what Twitter thought of Giroud’s brilliant performance against Newcastle last night:
What a fantastic finish from Giroud yesterday, not as easy as he made it look

Giroud is so underrated not world class but a lot better than most people think probably the most underrated player at the club.

How nice of you Giroud..

Balance is key to all good teams, Giroud brings that in spades.

Giroud missed 3 months of the season & he's still scored more goals than Balotelli & Falcao combined. http://t.co/3OKAgIU6QQ

One of our best performances of the season. Could have had 5 or 6. Good to have Giroud back. Neat goals & fluid link-up in the final third.
