The gossip has slowed down surrounding Arsenal since Petr Cech joined the club – but Arsenal fans are still hungry for more signings. I get the impression that if we sign anyone else this summer – it’s going to be a big name. Here’s the latest transfer gossip.
Real Sociedad table £6million bid for Joel Campbell (Mirror)
Arsenal have reportedly received a £6million bid for Joel Campbell from Real Sociedad and if it’s true you can expect a deal to be wrapped up pretty quickly. The Costa Rican has failed to fit in at Arsenal and £6million should be enough for Arsene Wenger to approve a sale. With Lukas Podolski, Campbell and Yaya Sanogo all set to leave the club this summer, it could free up funds for Wenger to go and invest in a top class striker.
Door open for Draxler to join Arsenal (Various)
Draxler is on the market this summer, and whilst there is no immediate need for a attacking midfielder at the club, Wenger may not want to pass up the opportunity to sign Draxler at a discounted price. Personally I’d prefer to spend his £30million asking price elsewhere, Alexandre Lacazette could go for £35million, Benzema probably for £40million – we have more pressing needs. Unless Wenger sees Draxler as a future centre forward?

What a signing this would be, and it’s gaining some momentum. The reliable Kike Marin has suggested Arsene Wenger will do everything to sign Benzema this summer – but will Real Madrid let him leave? There is nothing concrete to suggest they will so that worries me a little. If this one happens it’s going to go through right at the end of the window I think, so a bit of patience in required here. Whilst Benzema remains a possibility, I doubt we will make a move for any other striker.
