As the season draws to a close, the gossip begins. We will be bringing you an Arsenal filtered gossip column throughout the summer. Today reports suggest Arsenal are set to bid £10million for James Milner and are keeping tabs of Cech. See all the Arsenal transfer news in our Gossip Column.
Arsenal are set to make an official £10million bid for James Milner this week (Guardian). Milner is 28 years old, very versatile and has over 40 caps for England, with more to come this summer at the World Cup. It would be a bit of an odd signing as he is not a powerful option in the midfield and the report says Arsene wants him as an Arteta alternative. It would be a controversial one but I am actually a fan of Milner.
Arsenal are actively pursuing Petr Cech as Chelsea consider keeping Courtois (Daily Mail). Can’t see Chelsea selling their best keeper to us, even if Courtois does return. The Gunners also don’t need a first choice goalkeeper so this one doesn’t seem very realistic. It comes from the Mail and the headline is not really replicated in the article.. weird link.

Bacary Sagna has hinted that he could yet stay at Arsenal next season (Fresh Arsenal). Sagna has had another quality season for the Gunners, and seems to be demanding a three year contract, which would mean the Gunners would be contracted to keep hold of the high earner until he is 34. In my opinion it is still worth doing, sheerly due to the amount of quality and experience he possesses.
Arsene Wenger is set to sign a new three year contract at Arsenal (Telegraph). Many thought this would be the year that Arsene finally left Arsenal, but he is all set to extend even beyond next season and the Telegraph say he will have £100million this summer to help him win more trophies in the coming three years. Arsenal fans will hope he can replicate this seasons success in the coming years.
