North London is red and, according to many Arsenal fans on Twitter, Mathieu Flamini is Flamtastic!
Arsenal, thanks to Flamini’s efforts, set White Hart Lane ablaze in their 1-2 Capital One Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur. Flamini opened the scoring in the 26th minute and also scored the winning goal in the 78th minute; this was after Calum Chambers’ own goal which brought more hope to the Spurs’ fans in the 56th minute than Harry Kane managed to for the duration of the match.
Flamini has his critics for sure, but I changed my view of him during the 2014/15 season; prior to that I’d only seen him as a yellow card magnet. Tonight his display was magnificent and I sincerely hope he continues this good form throughout the 2015/16 season and beyond.
First off, here’s a post-match message from the man of the match himself:

Flamini scores twice at WHL, including the winner from 20 yards. What a time to be alive

Can’t believe I never rated Flamini, disgusted with my behaviour.

And finally, I’m always really happy when Thierry Henry pops up to talk about his (and our) beloved Arsenal. Even happier when it’s captured on TV. A doubly good night all round:
