3. Roberto Martinez
Possibly the least impressive manager on the list but still impressive nonetheless. Roberto Martinez was highly lauded for his fantasic FA Cup run in the 2012-13 season with relegation bound Wigan. It was a fairly easy run to the final but none expected a team of Wigan’s financial capabilities to get to the final let alone win the oldest cup competition in England. Martinez’s quick counter-attacking style gained a lot of attention when his side overcame relegation in the 2011-12 season by beating Premier League powerhouses like Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. Arsenal were on a 7 game winning streak at the time and were shocked by the intensity and pace in which Wigan overcame the odds. It was this lighting attacking tactics which matched Manchester City in the FA Cup final and stunned the world. Martinez replaced David Moyes at Everton and instilled the same style into a generally simplistic side. Arsenal fans know how Martinez can find holes in any side, embarrassing them 3-0 late last season and coming close to pipping them to 4th in the league. At the age of 41 Roberto Martinez has a lot to offer to English Football and at a club with Arsenal’s resources and tradition, he could make a mark not only domestically but in the whole of Europe.
