Arsenal are closing in on their first major signing and are set to make a senior sale in the coming days.
The club look set to sign Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and now need to sell some players, including a number of left backs.
One of those is very close to the exit door, with Lazio now having agreed a deal to sign Nuno Tavares.
The Portuguese international is set to join Lazio on an initial loan, with a £6million mandatory purchase clause.
The rumours have been swirling on this deal for a few days and now, Lazio director Fabiani has confirmed: “We want Nuno Tavares and there’s an agreement with Arsenal”.
“We now need to agree on personal terms with Nuno’s agents but I’m very confident, we have very good chances to sign him”.
This deal would see Arsenal recoup a similar amount to what they paid to sign Tavares initially back in 2021.
Calafiori is set to arrive as an option at left-back and Arsenal are open to offers for Kieran Tierney, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior, as well as letting Tavares go.
