Don’t worry, as you sit there with your puzzled mind at Fellain’s inclusion of ‘dangerous players’, I am here to reassure you I haven’t gone mad.
Since Rooney’s position-switch to midfield, it seems Louis van Gaal is building this team around the Belgian, which is much like that of David Moyes approach when he managed him at Everton.
What worries me is the match-up between him and Francis Coquelin, because Felliani will be able to intimidate his younger opponent. Chances are high that Fellaini will beat Coquelin in the aerial battles, and by drawing the Arsenal man, he immediately has taken him out of the game whilst looking for a lay off.
Fellaini has a keen eye for goal too, and with the dipping form of Arsenal captain, Per Mertesacker, he could look to capitalise in the air whilst things are looking shaky at the back. Fellaini will also ask questions of goalkeeper, Wojech Szczesny, who comes into the side as part of Wenger’s FA Cup team changes.
