It’s been nothing short of a bleak season for both Arsenal and their supporters and with another year of mediocrity on the horizon, there’s not too much to shout about.
No Champions League football, crashing out of the FA Cup in the third round and sitting 33 points off top spot in the Premier League (never mind the 13 points off fourth), I really can’t recall a worse season for Mr Wenger.
In what has become a frankly embarrassing attempt to claw back into the good books, Wenger has exhausted all of his ideas, an issue that no amount of spending can fix in the summer transfer window.
On paper Arsenal have a group of players that are capable of winning trophies and setting their sights on a realistic title challenge which is why many of us fail to recognise how things have got so bad.
But in what might seem like the worst season in his 22 year reign, the Gunners have had some players that have not only produced some great football, but justified their position for the next two or three seasons.
