Bielik Misses Out But Arsenal Add Three Players To Champions League Squad

Arsenal have added three new names to their Champions League squad ahead of a two-legged tie against Monaco in the last 16 of the competition.

Olivier Giroud was originally left out of Arsenal’s Champions League squad due to his serious foot injury at the start of the season. He has now been added to Arsenal’s eligible players list and will be able to feature against Monaco and any future games the Gunners may play in the competition.

Gabriel is the second player to be added to Arsenal’s squad. The £11.4million January signing will give the Gunners more depth in defence if either Laurent Koscielny or Per Mertesacker were to become injured.

Francis Coquelin has also been added to the squad. That gives Arsenal’s squad a huge boost, as the Frenchman has now become a key part of the Arsenal squad.

New signing Krystian Bielik has not been added to the Gunners Champions League options as teams are only permitted to make three changes to their squads. Bielik joined Arsenal in January for around £2.4million and is a defensive midfielder, also able to play as a centre back.

There is no doubt that the additions of Gabriel, Coquelin and Giroud to the squad will boost Arsenal’s chances of a successful run in the Champions League. Let’s hope we get past Monaco and then get a bit of luck in the quarter-final draw. Arsenal’s full squad of eligible players can be seen below:
